Terms of Use
Thank you for using atlas-data.ai ("Site") which provides cataloguing information of the ATLAS-Data Datasets ("Datasets") of Data Providers. By accessing and using any part of the Site, you agree to be legally bound by all Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not accept any of these Terms, please do not use the Site.
In these Terms, the words "we", "our", "us" and "AISG" refer to AI Singapore. "Data Providers" refer to third-party data providers and / or AISG (where relevant).
1. Revision of Terms
These Terms may be changed from time to time. Your use of the Site will constitute your agreement to the changed Terms.
2. Eligibility and Access
a. Site Purpose
The Site operates as an online data discovery, cataloguing and sharing platform to enable Data Providers to list, describe, and provide metadata, catalogue information, licensing references and access pathways relating to their datasets, which may include voice recordings, audio and text data, numbers, images, documents, video, geospatial data, and other computer vision and/or multimodal datasets (each, a "Dataset") for use by approved end users ("End Users"). The Site facilitates the discovery, indexing and, where applicable, access coordination of Dataset-related information. Unless expressly stated otherwise, AISG does not host, own, license, distribute or sell the underlying Dataset content itself. Access to and use of any Dataset content is governed solely by the applicable terms, licences and conditions imposed by the respective Data Provider.
b. Acceptance of Terms, Use and Eligibility
By accessing or using the Site, including registering an End User Account (defined below), you represent and warrant that:
you accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference;
- you are at least 18 years of age;
you will use the Site in accordance with all applicable local, state, national and international laws, rules and regulations including data protection, intellectual property, export control and sanctions laws;
are not a prohibited or restricted party under applicable trade sanctions; and if registering on behalf of a company, organization or other entity, you are an authorised representative of the entity and have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree to be bound by any of the above, please do not access or use the Site.
c. End User Account
In order to use the Site, you will be required to register for an account ("End User Account") on behalf of yourself or, if applicable, on behalf of any entity for which you are authorised to act.
You are solely responsible for:
ensuring that all required registration information submitted is complete, accurate and truthful;
- keeping your account and your contact information up to date; and
maintaining the confidentiality and security of your End User Account credentials and ensuring that your login credentials or access to your End User Account are not shared with unauthorised person.
You will be responsible for all activities conducted through your End User Account. AISG shall not be responsible for any loss, liability or expense arising from any unauthorised use of your End User Account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your End User Account.
d. End User Licence Terms
The Site primarily provides Dataset metadata, catalogue records, schema information, licensing references and related dataset Services. Unless expressly stated, the Site does not itself grant rights to access, use, reproduce, modify, distribute or exploit underlying Dataset content. Where Dataset content is made available, all rights relating to such Dataset content are granted directly by the relevant Data Provider under the applicable End User Licence.
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the applicable End User Licence before accessing or using any Dataset content. Your rights to use any Dataset content are limited to those granted under the applicable End User Licence.
e. Supplemental Dataset User Terms
Your use of the Site and related Services, including Dataset metadata, catalogue information, APIs, licensing references or other platform functionalities may be subjected to the additional rules set forth in our Data Licensing Policy.
The Data Licensing Policy is incorporated by reference into these terms.
3. Use of the Site
a. Permitted Use of the Site
You may use the Site only for the limited purpose of discovering, accessing and downloading the Dataset metadata, catalogue information, licensing references and related Dataset services made available by Data Providers.
b. Use of Datasets and APIs
The use of the Dataset content referenced or made accessible through the Site is wholly governed by the licence terms applied by the respective Data Provider, as described in our Data Licensing Policy.
The APIs made available through the Site primary provide access to Dataset metadata, catalogue information, schema information, licensing references, health indicators and related service information, and do not themselves grant rights to access or use the underlying Dataset content unless expressly stated otherwise. Access to the Datasets via application programming interfaces (APIs) is governed by the API Terms of Service in Section 13 below.
c. Access to the Site
The accessibility and operation of the Site relies on technologies outside our control. We do not guarantee continuous accessibility or uninterrupted operation of the Site.
f. Proprietary Rights
The contents of the Site, including source code, pages, documents and online graphics, audio and video, in the Site are protected by copyright, trademark and other forms of proprietary rights. All rights, title and interest in the materials are owned by, licensed to or controlled by us. Except as otherwise provided, the contents of the Site shall not be modified, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or otherwise distributed in any way, without prior written permission.
g. Security
Where appropriate, we use available technology to protect the security of communications made through the Site.
4. Intellectual Property
Apart from any fair dealings for the purposes of private study, research, criticism or review, as permitted in law, no part of the Site may be reproduced or reused for any commercial purposes whatsoever without our prior written permission.
5. Modification, Suspension and Termination
a. Modification
AISG reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Site (or any part thereof), with or without notice. AISG shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Site.
b. Account Suspension or Termination
We may limit, suspend or terminate your End User Account or access to the Site:
- if you breach these Terms or applicable End User Licences;
- to comply with applicable laws or legal obligations; or
- if necessary to protect the integrity of the Site.
Upon termination, you must immediately cease using the Site and delete or destroy all copies of cataloguing information of the Datasets, and if so required by the applicable End User Licence(s), to delete any Datasets in your possession.
c. Account Cancellation
You may cancel your use of the Site and/or terminate your End User Account at any time by writing to [email protected]. Please see our Privacy Policy for information regarding data deletion requests following End User Account cancellation or termination.
6. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AISG, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, costs (including legal costs), and expenses arising directly or indirectly from:
- your non-compliance or breach of these Terms or any End User Licence;
your (or via any other user's use of your End User Account) use of or access to the Site; and
any dispute between you and any Third Party (as defined in Section 10 below).
7. General Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
The contents of the Site are provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind. We make no warranties that the Site is free of infection by computer viruses or other unauthorised software. We will not be liable for any loss or damage (i) that you may incur on account of using, visiting or relying on any statements, opinion, representation or information in the Site; (ii) resulting from any delay in operation or transmission, communications failure, Internet access difficulties or malfunctions in equipment or software; (iii) the conduct or the views of any person who accesses or uses the Site; (iv) in connection with the security, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of any transactions and other communications made through the Site; (v) arising from the availability or content of any other Internet site (not provided by us) linked to or from the Site.
8. Third-Party Websites
The Site may contain links to third-party materials or websites that are not owned or controlled by AISG. We do not endorse or assume any responsibility for any such third-party sites, information, materials, products, or the Site. If you access a third-party website or service from the Site or share your information or data on or through any third-party website or service, you do so at your own risk, and you understand that these Terms (including all other relevant terms indicated on the Site) and our Privacy Policy do not apply to your use of such sites.
We reserve the right to object or disable any link or frame to or from the Site and/or to change the URL of the Site.
9. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise expressly stated, all intellectual property rights in the Site, APIs, platform technologies, software, documentation, designs, logos, trademarks, and materials provided by AISG remain owned by or licensed to AISG.
Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of any intellectual property rights in the Site or Services.
For clarity, Dataset content, Dataset metadata, and other materials made available by Data Providers remain subject to the applicable ownership rights and licence terms of the relevant Data Provider.
10. Third-Party Disputes and Release
You agree that you are solely responsible for your interactions, communications and transactions with any Data Provider, other End Users or other third party (each, a "Third-Party") in connection with the Site, and any disputes arising therefrom. AISG will have no liability or responsibility with respect thereto. We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor and/or become involved in any way with such disputes.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Use of the Site and these Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any claim relating to use of the Site shall be heard by Singapore Courts.

13. API Terms of Service (where applicable)
AI Singapore may provide access to the Dataset metadata, catalogue information, and related records through use of API services available from the Site. Access to or use of any actual Dataset content, where available, remain governed by the licence terms applied by the respective Data Provider, as described in our Data Licensing Policy. The API services made available on the Site are subject to these API terms of Service ("Terms of Service"). By using an API on the Site, in addition to the above sections, you agree to the following:
Definitions and interpretation
In these Terms of Service, unless the context otherwise requires:
"API" means any application programming interface, endpoint, integration service, or related technical interface provided or made available by AISG through the Site or Services.
"API Client" means any software, application, website, system, script, integration, platform, or service developed, operated, or used by you that accesses, interacts with, or Uses the APIs, including any component thereof.
"Dataset" means any dataset, dataset metadata, catalogue record, schema information, licensing reference, or related dataset resource made available through the Services.
"Downstream Sub-Licensee" means any person or entity that requires rights, permissions, or licences in order to access, use, interact with, or distribute the website, application, software, or API Client(s) of a Sub-Licensee.
"Sub-Licensee" means any person or entity to whom you grant a permitted sub-licence under these Terms of Service.
"Unauthorised Code" means any malicious or invalid code, virus, Trojan horse, worm, logic bomb, software routine or hardware components designed to permit unauthorised access, to disable, erase, or otherwise harm software, hardware or data, or to perform any such actions.
a. What you can do
you may use, access, call, command, query, retrieve or interact with Dataset metadata, catalogue information, schema information, licensing references, health indicators and related information made available through the APIs, whether commercially or non-commercially ("Use");
if your API Client(s) are intended to be distributed as or as part of a software library, you may grant a sub-licence of the APIs if this is necessary to your Sub-Licensees to incorporate and/or distribute your API Client(s) in their software programs; and
if your Sub-Licensees require rights to access or use any underlying Dataset content, your application and/or website should direct your Sub-Licensees to obtain the appropriate licence from the Site or the relevant Data Provider.
b. Limitations
These Terms of Service do not grant you any rights over:
any personal data should any personal data be included or exposed through the APIs, inadvertently or otherwise; and
any intellectual property found in Dataset content referenced, described, indexed or accessible through the APIs; and
any underlying Dataset content unless expressly permitted under the applicable licence terms provided by the relevant Data Provider.
These Terms of Service do not grant any rights to Downstream Sub-Licensees.
c. Additional conditions
Access to Dataset metadata and related information through APIs is subject to the following:
your right to Use APIs may be subject to additional terms, including limitations on Use, found on the individual pages of each API,
you agree that AISG may monitor your Use of the API to improve the service, track usage, to ensure compliance with these Terms of Service, or for security purposes;
when you Use the API, you must utilise the access control credentials issued to you if applicable and you agree to keep such credentials secure and confidential;
you shall not mis-present or mask your API Client's identity when Using the API;
you warrant that your API Client(s) are free of any Unauthorised Code;
you agree to Use the API in accordance to AISG's published technical and other specifications, including all security requirements and procedures;
you shall not interfere with or disrupt the API or the servers or networks providing the API; and
you shall not exploit any vulnerability of the API or servers, inject any unauthorised or malicious scripts, codes, commands, queries or requests, or introduce any Unauthorised Code through the API.
d. Disclaimers
The APIs are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. AISG makes no representations or warranties in relation to the APIs, including but not limited to any representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability, service levels, continued availability, timeliness, non-infringement, title, quality or fitness for any particular purpose of the APIs to the fullest extent permitted by the law.
To the extent permitted by law, AISG shall not be liable to you or any third party whether in contract, tort (including negligence), restitution, breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for damage or loss of any kind arising directly or indirectly from your or any third party's Use of, or inability to Use or the APIs.
AISG's provision of APIs does not limit AISG's right to:
develop, operate, market, license, or provide products, services, technologies, or functionalities that are similar to, competitive with, or otherwise overlap your API Client(s) and/or any of your products or services; or
modify, update, replace, suspend, discontinue, restrict, or otherwise change any APIs or methods of accessing the APIs at any time, with or without prior notice.
e. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AISG, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, costs (including legal costs), and expenses arising directly or indirectly from:
any claim made by a third party in connection with your Use of the APIs;
any system failure or downtime, and/or any lost or damaged data or software, arising from or in connection with your Use of the APIs;
- your violation of any rights of another person; or
any claim made by a third party in connection with the third party's Use of your API Client(s) developed using the APIs, or any derived analyses or applications which you have provided.
f. Suspension or termination of API access
The Agency may terminate these Terms of Service or suspend your access to the API for any reason whatsoever. Upon such termination or suspension, you shall immediately stop Using the API. The Disclaimers and Indemnities sections, and any other provision of these Terms of Service which is required to give effect to termination or the consequences of such termination, shall survive the termination of these Terms of Service.
